Welcome to UOAA

This website exists for the sole purpose of helping YOU or someone you love return to a normal, healthy, active and productive life with an ostomy or continent diversion. Our mission statement above, and all the activities that are undertaken to make it a reality, are designed to bring about a positive quality of life for every person who is touched by ostomy. We welcome you to our community and invite you to feel at home here.

What’s New at UOAA

General Information

UOAA is an association of Affiliated Support Groups. UOAA serves people with ostomies and other intestinal & urinary diversions through its support groups, by providing information, by coordinating Advocacy efforts and holding conferences, and with services provided via this website, such as our Discussion Board, which has a thriving user community, and a variety of tools to help our affiliates be as effective as possible. Individuals can join UOAA by joining one of its Affiliated Groups. UOAA is a member of the International Ostomy Association.

Any ostomy and continent diversion support group that hasn’t yet affiliated with UOAA is welcome to join forces and Affiliate with Us! For more information about UOAA, please visit our About page. You are also welcome to contact us if you have any questions.

Publications and Information

You will find a goldmine of information about ostomy on this website. You are also invited to subscribe to The Phoenix magazine, which is issued four times a year. In addition to the supportive “family” environment of the Discussion Board, a great deal of helpful information will be found in its current forums and archives. Our Conferences and events page will inform you about planned meetings that will help you gain more information and make friends among other members of our community.
